We read in the Bible, that we, as believers, are in fact at war. (Ephesians 6:12) If this is true, then what kind of war is it? Is it subsequently, the one who is our opponent?

Some Christians go to church on Sunday and midweek and do ‘warfare’ by shouting, screaming, dancing, and singing, leaving the service all tired out after fighting the enemy, all the while not realizing that the war is actually an ‘information war,’ a battle for the “hearts and minds” of humankind and is fought with truth, which is opposed by lies.

Faith comes by hearing. (Romans 10:17) This war, this battle, is for your mind, and if you are not being taught by listening to the word being read, by which faith comes, then you are not able to know, discern or understand what the “will of God is.” (Ephesians 5:17)You will be far more effective in the battle against wicked forces (Ephesians 6:12) by engaging in active listening to the proclamation of the scriptures, rightly divided (2 Timothy 2:15), and donning the complete armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) than by getting yourself all lathered up shouting at the devil at the Sunday service.
